part 334.2 of a novel: i got a phone call
I got a phone call. I was standing on carpet, but I was in a phone booth. I was barefoot. It felt very odd to me. The person called me on my cell phone. I asked them if they could call the phone in the booth. They said they couldn’t. They doubted that phone even worked. I agreed with them. Then they said something that reminded me of a line from a famous novel that continues to remain unread at the bottom of my bookshelf.
